5-4-3-2-1 Cooking in my Kitchen!

Hello, everybody.

This is Dr. Madiha Saeed, Board Certified Integrative Holistic Family Physician coming to you today from my kitchen.

I couldn’t go grocery shopping last weekend, so I did it today. I decided today I would batch cook for the rest of the week. I have eight people, living in my house. Yes, I live with my in-laws who were born and raised in Pakistan. My husband was born and raised in Pakistan. I was born and raised in the US, so we have completely different cultures and trying to keep them all happy and healthy is my goal in life – East meets West sort of thing. When my kids get back in an hour, I’ll have food ready. Then, I won’t have to cook the next couple of days. Yay!

Here is the 5-4-3-2-1

5 Recipes:

  • Organic Bone Broth
  • Creamy Broccoli Soup
  • Zucchini Bread
  • Wild caught Shrimp Fajitas
  • Cauliflower curry.

4 Kids:

I hope that has helped realize that yes, I’m a normal human being also. I have 4 kids. My kids are playing upstairs. That’s why I do batch cooking.

3 Tips:

  • I only store in glass containers.
  • Anytime that I could put vegetables, healthy fats, and protein, all in one source, is amazing.
  • I love to use smoked paprika, cilantro, parsley, garlic, cumin, and turmeric.

2 Step Curry Recipe

To make curry, I batch cook. I use onions; you need tomatoes for the base of the curry, onions, garlic, and turmeric. Add cumin. Add paprika, something spicy like red pepper. All that goes into this dish. I place all the ingredients in the pressure cooker – in 5 minutes, it’s done! I’ll stick it in glass little Tupperware.
